Analytics

Understanding your click data, traffic sources, and visitor insights.

How does click tracking work?

Every time someone clicks your shortened URL, HidURL logs the visit. We capture the device type (mobile/desktop/tablet), browser, operating system, country, and referrer (the site they came from). This data appears in your Stats page for each URL.

What analytics data is available?

Analytics shows: total click count, unique clicks, clicks over time (daily/weekly/monthly chart), device breakdown (mobile vs desktop), browser breakdown, OS breakdown, and top referrers. Analytics is available on Starter plans and above.

How long is click data stored?

HidURL keeps the most recent 50,000 click logs per month per account. This is a rolling window - older logs beyond this limit are automatically removed. Your total click count is always accurate, but detailed per-click breakdowns are limited to the most recent 50K events.

Why are my clicks not showing?

Analytics requires a Starter plan or above. Free plan users can see total click counts but not detailed breakdowns. If you're on a paid plan and clicks aren't showing, try refreshing the page. There may be a short delay (up to a few minutes) before new clicks appear in analytics.

Does HidURL count bot traffic?

HidURL makes a best effort to filter known bots and crawlers from click counts. However, not all automated traffic can be detected. For the most accurate measurement, focus on trends over time rather than absolute numbers.
